PCB Design Service

﹡ Components Library Creation ﹡

The component library is the backbone of any PCB design, it is very crucial because it affects the manufacturability and yield of your design. Component part defect can render your PCB completely dysfunctional, resulting in time-consuming re-work, or even unnecessary board re-spins. Thus, we create all component footprints in accordance with IPC-7351 standard, and carefully check every component part in the library, ensure that the symbol, mapping file and footprint are error free before putting them into use.

﹡ Schematic Capture ﹡

Schematic diagram must not only accurately represent your design, but it should also be properly drawn for easy understanding the working of the circuit, and for trouble shooting of the problems. Having a consistent set of naming conventions, schematic and logic attributes, and documentation standards will make your schematic more legible.

﹡ PCB Stack-up Planning ﹡

Planning of a proper PCB stack-up is very important because it forms the basis of a successful PCB design, a good stack-up can enable designers to optimize their design for signal integrity, crosstalk, and EMI. In BLACKBOX, we take into consideration of five key things when planning PCB stack-up, there are Signal Integrity, Crosstalk, Electromagnetic Interference, Manufacturability and Manufacturing Costs.

﹡ Layout Design ﹡

A good layout design starts with good component placement, the placement of components will determine how the signal traces will be routed, and the quality of the power distribution networks, thus, every component must be carefully planned and placed. Good component placement not only enables the signal traces to be routed with minimum length and minimum via, eliminating potential signal integrity issue. The power distribution network also can be optimum, providing clean and reliable power supply to the active devices on the PCB. In BLACKBOX, we practice manual routing for all signals, ensure that all traces are routed with shortest length without any unnecessary via. And the power planes are also carefully managed, especially employing split planes, not only meeting the current carrying capacity but also the integrity of the power distribution network.

﹡ Gerber Generation & Checking ﹡

We perform gerber checking with the help of gerber tool to ensure that the gerber files are generated as designed and meeting DFM rules before sending them to the board fabricator.

﹡ Fabrication & Assembly Drawings Generation ﹡

The Fabrication Drawings specify all the important information of the PCB design such as board outline, layer stack-up, drill chart, and many more requirements, is a meant to communicate to the manufacturer, instruct them on how the board is to be manufactured. While the Assembly Drawings contain information such as the component location, reference designators, polarity, pin 1 indication and others information, which are essential for component assembly process.

Design Standards & Specifications

By default, we design all PCB compliance to IPC Class 3 Standards with no additional cost incur, ensure that all designs delivered are of the best of quality. By doing so, our customer will have the flexibility to fabricate the PCB with the required quality standard depending on their application, or at the various stages of the prototyping cycle for cost saving.

Apart from IPC standards, we also follow closely to DFM and DFA rules, ensure that not only the design is manufacturable but also with high yield, making the product more cost effective.
